Oh by the way

"Also inspect the transmission input shaft bearing retainer for groves and score marks. It goes over the input shaft and bolts (4 bolts) to the front of the transmission. If it is groved or scored, replace it or you may have shifting problems." - Pete D

Before the motor was yoinked from the car it did want to be a pain to get into gear sometimes. I am going to replace is much as I can and I hope it should fix the prob.

Also while I am at it who makes decent aftermarket motor mounts for my 87TC? Can I just pick up whatever autozone has?

You may be able to get the input shaft collar from Ford, not sure. The transmission shop that does my trannys always put a new one on. Try a trans shop. Sorry, I don't have a P/N

Adam, the bearing retainer is what you're talking about I believe, shaft that bolts onto the end of the transmission and goes out about 5" onto the input shaft right? Ford sells these, and there is an improved design available now that lasts better. Try your dealer
