Need help removing rear brake lines

I am trying to remove my rear rubber brake lines and I am having a hard time loosing them from the metal line. Can anybody recommend any thing to help break it loose. Thanks

Are you trying to use regular wrenches or are you using brake wrenches? Brake wrenches (may not be the real name) are higher quality, fit tighter, and won't (usually) round off the fittings; they're almost like a box wrench but with an opening to enable getting it around the brake line. That's what I had to buy and use when I did my brakes.

I agree, Brake wrenches have 4 or 6 sides instead of 2 like an open end wrench. Blaste the hell out of em with PB blaster. May take a couple of hours for it to penetrate if they are really bad. If that does not work, they you will have to do what I did - heat them up with a torch. Problem with that one is if you get them too hot, the rubber hose will blow, so make sure you have spares available. Ask me how I know......

I've also heard the term "line wrenches" applied. Worth their weight in gasoline [Image: biggrin.gif]

i didint like having to do my brake job when i bought the tc......had to buy 4 new discs, 4 new calipers, ,two sets of pads, and engoug brake fluid to flush the entire system.....now i gotta pull ABS codes to find out whats wrond with that, ,and i need that little under car clip that connects the parking brake cable to the cable that runs to the parking brake pedal......lol....packing those front bearings is NOT fun...lol....nor is pressing in the seals.....i bought the car and all the rotors looked like they had been on the car sincee 1988!!!!!!!!!
