had the bird for a few weeks and still having some issue's with the idle or when i push in the clucth car cuts off? i took to the gas station they adjusted the idle bump the timming.and check the pvc valve and said it was good. what else could i check? i been searching the site for the last few weeks, also i notice my oil dip stick blows out sometimes and shoot oil out i thought it was the pvc valve from some of the things i've read.this is the stuff that was done to the motor by the guy i brought it from, its also has a air fuel meter that not hook up yet. i'm going to replace turbo with a holset hx40 when i find a decent wg manifold cause the t3 is smoking real bad after you get on it and let of the gas i beleave its the seals. but any help would be welcome. thanks

Welcome to the Tbird madness! You will love this forum and the people on here. VERY helpful.

You might want to check the IAC (Idle Air Control). They sometimes get gummed up with oil. It is the solenoid looking thing on the throttle body. Make sure that works and is cleaned.

Also, make sure the dipstick sits all the way down. My TC dipstick TUBE was popping out, not just the dipstick. Check the dipstick bolt on the intake is holding the dipstick tube down. You may have a lot of crankcase pressure that is forcing the dipstick out. Check your breather assembly and PCV again.

Noticed you are in Charlotte, what part?

Hello and welcome. Congratulations on your new "car"
I would suggest you check the PCV youself. The PCVs for a turbo car are a little different and the avareage gas stationj is not going to know that - trust us on this one.
First check the brand. It should be "Ford P/N: E5ZZ-6A666-A (this is the correct p/n, 5/13/02) The Motorcraft box will also have EV-127-A on it" NO other PCV will work correctly and others will let boost into the crankcase and could be the cause of blowing out the dip stick.

If your PCV is the correct brand then hold it straight up and down and try to blow through the small end. If it passes any air at all it is defective. Replace it with the part above. Test the new one the same way, at the parts counter, before you buy.

Beside cleaning the IAC as menetioned above, You should probably check the engine vacuum when warm. This may tell you if you have a vacuum leak or other mechanical condition. It would be good if you pulled the codes too:

Let us know what codes you get for each section of the test.

What moron mechanic (and I use that term loosely) "bumped the idle"?? Unless you have a tuner, standalone, etc, the idle speed is NOT adjustable, unless the idiot used the base idle screw to open the throttle a little more, which 100% defeats the action of the IAC, plus will increase the TPS voltage pssibly putting it out of closed throttle acceptable range. Find another mechanic.

BTW, welcome to the board!
