BARO input corrects fuel delivery for altitude (air density). If it is out of spec, it could lead to open loop A/F being too rich / too lean and still not set a BARO code, but in closed loop, LTFT should be able to correct for this and set the A/F to stoich. If it BARO is so wacked that LTFT cant correct for it, the CEL will come on with a rich or lean (42/41) code. To test the BARO you need a DMM that reads frequency or a dedicated frequency meter. BARO sensor is pricy, so I wouldnt replace one unless I was 100% sure it was bad.

In ford the MAP and BAP are the same part they may have a different number but the only real difference is that with a MAP a vac line is connected and for the BAP no hose is conected. On the BAP part they usally have a cover so you can't hook up the vac line.

If there is fuel on the lower intake look at the injectors with the car running. See if it is spraying out the side of one of them. If not maybe just the o-rings on the injectors are bad. You can get them at the parts store. I think mine sells them $2.99 per injetor kit. The computer calls them injector seal kit. There is one o-ring at each end of the injector. As for the hesitation maybe the lose of fuel is enough to cause it to sense lean so the ECU compensates by adding more fuel. Also maybe the injectors are leaking fuel into the cylinder when they aren't supposed to.
