I'm trying to settle something at work and I thought I'd ask you guys what you think. Would a healthy running STOCK 88 TC 5speed beat or even keep up with a 96 Mustang GT with an auto ? A guy I work with said he could beat me, but my brother has a 96 GT with an auto and I think it's a turd. I couldn't even get the tires to spin from a dead stop and turning.
Bone stock except for CAI, Hurst Shifter and a Walbro 255 fuel pump. Gillis 2 stage on the way !

96 4.6L was only rated at 215 HP in the Stang GT if I remember correctly. With the power sucking AODE these cars were relative dogs performance wise. If your car is a 5 speed, I bet you can take him by a little IF you know how to drive.

Actually, they have 225 hp. I've been searching for a road test on one but can't find one, just specs.
