need fuel pump - which one to buy and how to install?

i'm in the sacramento area and i was gonna do my fuel pump myself, should i goto kragen or autozone and get a fuel pump or order the Walbro 255? and do i need a FPR too?

how about some installation tips, i've noticed people have had problems installing the walbro

For Gods sake, dont buy a pump at Auto Zone, Kragen, etc. Those pumps are absolute crap!! Just get a name brand pump, like a Walbro.

I had no problems installing my Walbro 255 high pressure. Just needed to trim the big rubber vibration isolation sleeve the pump is mounted in a little to get the sock to fit.

do i need one of those fuel pressure regulators? why did everyone else get one when they ordered their walbro??

any other place sell walbro that is closer to california so i can get it right away?

also, do i need a guage for my FPR (if i have to get one)? does JDS sell those?

I ordered the Walbro 255 unit. I put it on in my driveway. Get a friend to help you with the tank. I didn't get the FPR. The new pump really helped on my top end stutter. Pulls strong to 6000rpm now!
