WoooHOooo after 2 yrs at 25psi she finally went and went out with a bang all shaft play now lol. anyway what is a good upgrade since i was pushing it to hard anyway i need something bigger that will have some room for play... im thinking either the 6.5 turbo diesel which is ball bearing or the hx35 but there is a w and a y and something else. either way i need one with internal wg and has to fit the stock manifold..

You were running 25psi on a t3?
That's WAYY out of their efficiency range...I'm pretty sure that helped contribute to the turbo failure.

To answer your question:
Hybrid T3/T4 .50 A/R (comp), .63 A/R (exhaust)
Don't go any further than that, your current set up can't handle it.

By the way, do you have a wideband hooked up to your car?

Shafts dont break for no reason. Bearing failure due to oiling issues (volume, pressure, quality) can lead to shaft failure as well as overspinning the turbo and / or not running a BPV / BOV for high boost levels. Be sure to addres all these issues before putting on a new turbo. WHenever replacing a turbo always replace the oil feed line too.

The oil feed line is brand new it might have 200 miles on it steel braided but slightly smaller than 1/4 that comes stock for the Turbo feed is that bad..

Its bad if that line gets a kink in it. thats what happened to mine when I was tightening it. Ended up blowing the seals out. I also would think a smaller feed line would be an issue as well.

Why would you think about spending $800 plus on a header you don't need, before getting a better flowing head that you do need?
The HX35 will bolt up to an E6 manifold, but you will need to rework your down pipe.
You are talking about an HX35w, right? With the internal wastegate? If not, how do you plan on running an external wastegate setup?
I think you need to sit down and REALLY think about what your goals are with this car, and pencil out a plan. Do your research here and over on Turboford (you can still search and browse without being a member. DO IT).
88TC 5speed, 160,000+, ranger roller, Evergreen T3, cone filter, manual boost controller.

Waiting in the garage: SC throttle body, SC intercooler, graphic equalizer, among other things.

It's going to be funny when he installs an HX35 and the car is actually slower than it was before.

A bo-port header will be a giant waste of money unless you get your head ported. Your restrictions are going to start at the head and valve train, not your turbo.

I'm assuming you have a stock head, but you still haven't answered that question. SO what the hell do you actually have in your set up????
Nothing in your sig suggests you have "342hp", even with Megasquirt and a tune, you're never going to see those numbers, even on a cold night (especially on a T3 that's being run out of it's efficiency range).

Before anyone else can help you, you need to help yourself by LISTENING to what people have to say. Other wise you will be very disappointed with your car, and you WILL cause major damage to your engine.
