We finally have a NATO/Carlisle web page... http://www.turbotbird.com/Carlisle2002/Carlisle2002.htm

There's info about show dates, fees, member and guest info, link to Carlisle page and most importantly link to our NATO Pre-Registration Form page... http://www.turbotbird.com/Carlisle2002/N...orm_lg.htm

To use the Pre-Registration form, click on the link, print the entire page, fill out the form and send it to Gary Schweikert as indicated on the form. You don't have to be a member of NATO to register under our club name. This does not mean you will automatically be a club member, it just means that you and your car will be registered with NATO in the Turbocoupe class and placed in the same location on the show field.

I want to reiterate the following info for those that are not aware:

Before February 28, 2002 - CLUB PRE-REGISTRATION RATE = $25.00

Between March 1 and May 10, the pre-registration rate will increase to $30.00

After May 10, registration is $40.00 cash, payable only at the event.

Also, NATO is going to reserve a block of ten (10) rooms at the Ramada Hotel for $69.95 per night and requires a deposit of $69.95 for the first night "IN ADVANCE". First come - first serve basis. Once the rooms are filled, the rate will be higher. Gary Schweikert has details on this, and as we get more info we will let you know.

Lastly, if we get a min of 25 pre-registered members, Carlisle will provide us with a tent for the show. Last year it was pretty hot under the sun all day long for 3 days (well except for Sunday). A tent will serve as a central meeting point and provide us with a place to hang out in the shade.

Forget the show date, you have to worry about getting pre-registered for the lower price by Feb 28 and also about reserving a hotel room. There were thousands of cars on the show field last year, not to mention all the spectators, so do the math and see how many people will be looking for a hotel room. Hotels are already starting to fill up, the longer you wait the less chance of you finding one anywhere close to Carlisle, let alone for a decent price, not to mention it's hell trying to get through town in traffic when several thousand cars are coming in about the same time. The hotel we are blocking rooms at is about 2 miles from the show!

WOW! Great website. One small point - "NATO will also be excepting new and renewing memberships at the show also." That should be -accepting-. [Image: biggrin.gif] (I know; picky, picky, picky...)

Wish I could attend and/or they had one a bit closer!

Nate, which Carlisle event were you at last year? It was cloudy and rainy as much as it was sunny. [Image: biggrin.gif]

Birdman78758.... thanks for the kind words. Sorry to hear you can't attend. It's really a great time and some awesome cars to be seen. Hopefully we'll have plenty of great pictures to post after the show.

Oops, good catch, thanks for letting me know. Easy to miss little things like that after you've read something over so many times.

Pete... I'm surprised you remembered that much of it, finally found some med's to help with your CRS huh... and you just had to get better right about now. LOL

Remember I missed Fridays rain showers (actually I was driving up in them), oh that reminds me of the funniest damn thing we saw... pooring down rain, fender bender accident in median, state trooper climbs up on guard rail to cross over, slips and falls face first in the muddy ditch, trys to get up, slips backwards and falls again, finally gets up and it covered from head to toe with mud! Just about pissed by pants seeing that!! One of those rare moments in life when you feel there really is some "justice" in the world.

Sat was a little cloudy, but when the sun came out, man was it cooking.

Two good reason for a tent... shade from the sun and shelter if it does rain.
