Anybody know where this one should be connected?  I was changing my oil and I found this one dangling loose right next to the filter.  Can't really tell where its coming from and can't see any obvious place where it should go.  Recently had major ABS master cylinder work done and the car has been offsite for the past year.  But everything that was working before is still working now, so I can’t tell if something has been disconnected or if this is a connection to some accessory my car never had.

Looks like my iPhone killed my reply. Trying again. Back side of lower intake is a temp sensor, or it’s the back of the prop valve under the cruise control. I think anyway.

Man, I can’t win here with my darn phone. I got excited that I saw something that I might know the answer to. Then ended up with two separate thoughts jumbled together when replying. So, one last time here. The prop valve under the master cylinder is my guess. I was thinking it was like a kill switch for cruise control when you tap the brakes, but I think it might have more to do with registering a fault then turns your brake light on? Anyway, it should be that or the temp sensor on the back of the lower intake. Sorry for the earlier garbage replies. I’m human.

^^^^ I agree.... either the IAT(intake air temp) sensor connector or possibly the KS (knock sensor). Both sensors are sticking out of the lower intake just below the upper intake / lower intake junction, and stick out toward the driver side strut tower. If you had work done in the Teves II ABS master cylinder area, the shop likely disconnected one or both sensors to allow easier access to the area.

First let me thank you both in advance for your help and patience.  I just took a look and maybe I'm blind or stupid (both?) but I can't find the sensors on the lower intake.  Sounds like they should be where I'm looking (see pic), maybe I can't see the forest for the trees.  Is there anyplace in the site showing a lower intake where I can see those sensors (tech articles?).

On the firewall side below the oil dipstick. Here’s a pic, hopefully you can see the two connections there. And another pic of the prop valve under the master cylinder. I’ve changed mine out so I have a lot of clearance,  it it will be a tight squeeze with stock brake system.

that is the plug for the SPOUT connector, there is supposed to be a small connector pill in it. if thats pulled your timing is locked.
that is removed to set base timing.

Excellent info from everyone. Thanks, this car is an ongoing education for me.  The pics and advice have been very helpful.  I located the IAT and Knock Sensors on the lower intake, both are connected correctly.  Located the SPOUT - connected - plug looks just like my mystery plug (see pic, my finger is on the mystery plug).  But I can't find the prop valve under the master cylinder.   From jtucci's pic, looks like that's where my mystery plug should go, but would my brakes still work without an operating prop valve?   I have to get back in there and take another look.  I don't know a lot about this car's brake system but since the shop did some "creative" tubing for the system overhaul, I'm wondering if they did anything else "creative".

There’s a brake line visible in the pic you posted. If you follow that down about 4-6 inches you’ll be at the prop valve. The plug would also be on the firewall side of the valve, and the valve is pretty much touching the engine side of the fender wall, so it is a tight squeeze to fit your hand in there. Not positive about clearance trying to find it from the bottom up. I’ll have to lean on others for what the wire does, but my guess is that it is a pressure switch that illuminates the brake warning light if pressure is not within a certain metric. I don’t think there is any auto adjustment that occurs in this valve. It just restricts fluid flow to make sure a certain percentage of brake power is in the front versus the back.
