Well I came home from school one day and as I turned the car off and stepped out I heard a buzzing sound from under the hood.
So I open the hood and peek around because this was a fairly loud buzz (loud enough to set my alarm off) and it was coming from around the oil pump area. I decided to let it continue thinking maybe it would stop, but an hour later still was going off, and continued until the battery was completely dead.
Just want to know what you guys might think it could be. Checked out the ground cable from the battery and it seems to be fine..
Time for a new oil pump?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.. I'd like to be driving her again and get her off the street at the end of my driveway. God knows how many drivers come inches from her..

Since the oil pump is mechanical, inside the oil pan and doesn't move when the engine is off, I think we can eliminate that. Is there any chance that this buzzing noise is coming from near the master brake cylinder assy on the fire wall on the driver's side?

I'm with Pete. Check the ABS relay. Mine sticks once in a while and needs a rap to stop. Don't know what else would be buzzing under the hood.

That sounds more accurate, I charged the battery and took another listen, it's location is on the drivers side close to the firewall and yes is near master brake cylinder.
My ABS Light has been on for a while so that will deffinately be checked out tomorrow.
Thanks guys for lightning fast replies, i'll get back to you tomorrow

It sounds like you may have 2 different problems. The buzzing you here is probably the electric booster pump for the regular (not ABS) system. The reason it runs all the time is probably that one of the two relays in the black box directly under the vacuum tree on the fire wall is faulty. Like firstsvo said, it sticks. Tapping the relay may unstick it, but the better fix would be to replace the relay. They are not expensive.
Since the ABS light is on that means something is going on with the ABS system. The ABS is a separate system from the regular brake system. I believe that the relay problem would not cause the ABS light to come on. This article may help you with both issues; http://www.turbotbird.com/techinfo/TEVES...%20TCs.htm
Fix the relay problem/booster pump first.

Pete is right.... the ABS light haws nothing to do with the pump relay sticking.
