My TC story

I was at our local dragstrip back in May and my bike was parked right next to Boosted Chicken. I was amazed at his car so I started looking for one and found one at Edwards AFB. After a weekend trip it was back in Abilene by Sunday night. Got it tagged and tinted, then in August at a stop light I was hit in the rear by a truck and the car was total. Told them I was going to keep the car cause I could always put the motor in my Falcon. So I got a check and broke even on the car and dropped if off at a local body shop and told them I was only going to spend a thousand cause the day before the hit I just order a bunch of parts from Stinger. Got the car back within a month and looking really good, I'd say it back to 90% and I can live with that.

Got a Pimp, FMIC, bigger turbo, ported upper and lower intake, and Bo is working on a stage 3 head for me.

The insurance company considered that totaled, with just that left rear damage? I guess I am not surprised. While in college my 1970 Olds Toronado was also hit at a stop light, a lot more damage but it was also totaled. MAN I loved that car! I also kept mine, learned the frame was pushed forward about 4” on the left side, so I put its engine into another Toro I found that had a cracked block.

I’m glad you decided to keep it. Far too few of these great cars on the road any more.

Thanks guys

The hardest part was finding a complete tail light, I looked for weeks for a complete assembly but most where just the lens for sale. No TC around our junkyard either, talk about a rare bird. I haven't seen a 87-88 in Abilene yet.

Are the taillights different from a regular t-bird? Pardon my ignorance...

The 87-88 TC's have different tail lights and are hard to come by. I saw a pair go for 700 bucks ?

All of the 87-88 Tbirds have the same tail lights. No difference on the TC's.

Lights inboard of headlights are different between T/C's and nonT/C's, headlights and outboard lights are the same and as 50Racer said, the taillights are the same.

Jeff: I stand corrected, I thought only the inners were different. You know much more about these cars than I. I replaced all the front lights on my 88 several years ago and I thought only the inners were different.
