finally getting around to introducing myself.
I've been stalking here for a long time.
Bought Ken's 87 from Connellsville, PA last Nov 2017.
Drove form TX to PA to pick it up.
it s a time capsule of sorts.
I'm still wondering if the mileage is true but it'll never be proven.

I picked it up with less than an indicated 45K miles and based on condition, its probably close.

As I mentioned this is my second Black 87 TC 5spd.

Now I get to tinker with it a bit while keeping it original as it is...

New home is in Pearland TX

I'll post photos sometime soon.

Hey there! I'm new too. The forum is pretty dead. I bought a 1988 with 48000 miles in Charlotte. It's also a time capsule. I would be interested in comparing notes with you. Mine vibrates a bit at high rpm's. I may pull the transmission for inspection of the clutch when I get around to it. However, after getting under it and seeing those huge harmonic balancers on the driveline, and the liquid-filled motor mounts, I figured they probably just vibrate.

I have some tiny coolant leaks, so I am going to have to fix that first, and I thought I might do a timing belt just for good measure. The car is 30 years old after all. I am afraid I am going to have a make a hard coolant pipe.

Hey there. Sorry for the delayed response. Yes due to the relative dead nature of this board I don’t come here too often.
Congrats on the low mileage find.
Sorry to hear you have some vibrations issues.
Do you feel it seat of the pants or in you hands or just audio sound?
Mine has some sort of rear end noise that may be related to 30+ year oil in the diff.
Yes 30 year old time capsules do not necessarily translate into a low mile modern car.

Happy to compare notes with ya from time to time.

Mine is a seat of the pants thing. I might try replacing the bushing in the back of the transmission. All transmissions seem to have a lot of slop there, so I doubt it would really fix it. U-joints also have 30 year old grease in them.

considering how long mine sat with little to no activity, I'm scared to know how many gremlins are lurking in my bird....
