Are you talking about Performance Plus? My brother had a 60k done on his 93 SHO there and they're a great shop.

Yep. Performance plus is the onlyshop I'll let touch the TC, because i know the job will be done correctly and I wont be raped on price. Theres actuall an 84 SVO F/S there that I might be aquiring..... Smile This problem just seems to be inherant with the TC's, so i dont think its their fault.
All hail Project "Marauder" !

I wonder if the following can have anything to do with the chirp.

I had the same chirp as everyone else here, there is a little trick that an old man told me a few years ago.

Put just a dab of your heavyest grease on the face of the TOB and smear it around where the face rides up next to the clutch diaphram. Then around the TOB where the fork slides on the ends of the fingers of the fork, where the shinny spots are from ware. Make sure that the bearing is nice and lubed, but don't go over board. You don't want to pack it like a wheel bearing. Then make sure that the outer input shaft housing where the TOB rides is nice and clean, then add a very thin layer of grease there and the pivot point where the fork rides also. You would be amazed at just what that little bit of extra work will do.

But the most important thing to remember when doing this, DO NOT GO OVER BOARD USING THE GREASE!!!! Just a thin layer will work. It worked for me.

When I put my new clutch in I found out that the 2 holes in the fork holding the clip in were drilled from the factory off center which cocks the clip to one side. I have gone to junk yards and picked up 2 other forks and all 3 have the holes drilled off center showing excessive ware on one side of the clip.I had the same problem with A broken clip I found the Ford dealers still have forks for the 1985 clutches so I drilled out the rivets and took the clip from the 85 and riveted it to the 87 fork it is working fine but it wasn't cheap. goldenbird
