Thought I'd post up the progress pics of my '88 TC build for all my fellow 2.3T Bird Lovers here. I'm building this car into a Street Outlaw style Road Race Car. One that will actually be used out on the street racing for money/respect. I love this little 4 banger now, and she will be staying 2.3T all the way. Smile I'm in the Paint/Body work stage of the build right now. The fun stuff comes later on. Smile This car was already near mint and rust-free when I started, so not much resto work to do on this one, thankfully. I will update in real time as progress happens. Since you can't inline images here, this is the photo album link. Enjoy the pics.

Lookin' good!

You can inline images here, though. Just copy the direct link from photobucket and put image tags around it.

Thanks guys. Great to see all the Turbo Coupe love here. A lot of sites out there don't have much love for the TC, just jealousy and all that entails, lol! Think I'll stick around for awhile. Smile I will keep you all updated. I'll inline the images from here on out then, makes it a little easier to tell the story behind the pic.

Dan, that would be cool, pm me ahead of time if your ever gonna be in the area. I have a few friends who stop by to checkup on and critique my progress a couple times a month, but no one who really has a love for these cars like us. Hey, if nothing else, I know it's a ways away, but I will be showing this car at the Charlotte Auto Fair next April, would love to have another TC to park next to on the show grounds, especially one as nice as yours!

Where are you in Charlotte? I am in Cornelius and I have an '87 and and '88 TC. My son Wes lives in Concord and he has an '88.

I am currently building a 2.5 liter engine for my '88 using an offset ground crankshaft, Neon rods and custom CP pistons. I hope to have it ready for the 2.3 shootout in August in Bristol VA.
