My 500.00 Turbo coupe!

Hi to all. This will be my first post. I'm excited to join the forum and own my first T-bird. I visited my friends new apartment, and asked "who's turbo coupe is that out there?" He didn't know. I went to go look at it, and noticed the tags were 10 years old! It had been sitting for a while. I called the apt lady, and she had the owner call me. I asked if he was interested in selling the car. He said "make me an offer", so I said "500 Bucks". He said "sold!" I'M SO HAPPY!!!!! After changing the oil, and draining the old fuel, I fired it up for the first time last weekend. Man, this thing runs! It's a 1988 model with all the bells and whistles minus the sunroof.

My first question (of many) would be: how do I know if the rear end is a 7.5 or an 8.8? I guess I could look at a Ranger rear end, and compare the two, right? Anyway, thanks for taking the time to welcome me, and for reading my post. My name is David.

Thanks everyone for the rearend help, and the welcome. I'll post pics just as soon as I figure out how to transfer pics from "my documents" on the hard drive, onto the thread. (I'm not too tech savvy) I've saved the pictures of the T-bird on the computer, so not too much longer...

Thanks Pete for the help. I gotta say guys; this car is a cream puff for 20 years old (aside from the dash that looks like a desert floor)

need to remove the spaces from the file names, i.e:

make "T-bird 003" into "T-bird003".

Good find for sure, unless there was some costly repair damage anyone would have been a fool not to jump on that.

Clean car..
