Do mustang trunk pans fit our cars, or at least close to it? I went banging around on the underside of the trunk and opened up a few more rust holes that were hiding under paint and dirt. At this point, I feel it'd be easier to just run down to the junkyard with my sawzall.
87 TC: 5spd, started B234F head swap (overall setup changing), Quarterhorse, T3/T4 63 a/r, 3" exhaust, walbro 255, tubular front clip, 5 lug swap, 17x8 front/17x9 rear cobra r's, wilwood 4 piston calipers (rear only, for now), lightened 471lbs so far

The Fox Thunderbird body is longer overall than the Fox Mustang. Some floor pan parts may be similar, but would need to custom fit by adding metal. Look for any 83 - 88 Thunderbird (V6, V8), the floor pans will all be the same. You may need to cut out the rusted portion and then add metal to fabricate new panels. One of the weakest spots we found was the passenger side floor just below the firewall. That can be fixed using a new floor pan from a Mustang and then doing some fabrication.
It's not easy, but if restoration is what you want, that's one of the few choices.

That's my issue, no fox birds/cougars to be had around here. Since I've been down here, I have only seen 1 fox bird in any of the junkyards within a 50-ish mile radious and it was hit hard in the rear, so that trunk floor is toast. Tons of mustangs to be had for parts, so that's why I asked.
What about mark 7's? I know they're similar to birds/cougars under the sheet metal. There's 1 in the yard at the end of my street. Never put 2 and 2 together on that 1 before
