I sheared the roll pin on the distributor last time I had it out. Waiting for an upgraded replacement to arrive. Then I have to replace the right rear parking brake cable and take care of an oil leak.

I also have been thinking about catch cans. Right now my valve cover is vented to atmosphere and I don't want to keep it that way. Kind of want to do a combo valve cover/block catch can and get rid of the pcv valve.

I do need to exercise the GoPro, though.

I got the roll pin replaced like a month ago, but after finishing that I tried running the car and resetting the timing, but the timing belt kept jumping. This past Thursday night I finally replaced that and the tensioner, and I ended up having to replace the adjustable timing sprocket with a stock one because the teeth had worn down and chewed up the teeth on the belt. That was odd - I'll have to find a new sprocket in the future, but for now the factory unit is staying there.

before I took it out for a spin I checked the hose clamps between the turbo and TB. Out of 12, 7 were not tight enough, which explains why the car hasn't been pulling like it should. Feels much better now - time to turn up the boost a bit. I'm currently running a conservative 15psi. I think it's ready to go up again.

I had the boost up to 20psi and everything was going awesome. Pulled like never before, ran like a top, car was happy.

But...

I wanted to change things again. This time to implement (re-implement??) electronic boost control.

I've had this Pierburg boost controller which I got from Dan sitting in my garage. I felt it needed to go on the car, so it did. The trusty Gillis got the axe and Mr. Pierburg went in its place.

Install was pretty simple. I just had to connect a wire from my 'squirt to the ground wire of the BCS harness. The Pierburg uses the same connection as the factory BCS so after connecting the ground wire, the rest is plug and play. The biggest issue was figuring out exactly how to set up boost control, for this valve, in Tuner Studio. I got it figured out with some help and now it's all working. I set the boost back down to 15 psi to be safe. I've only had the car out once since going to electronic control, but so far I'm happy. It needs a bit of tuning to help keep pressure a bit more stable, but it holds real close to the set boost level.

Also - if it may help anyone in the future, here are (were) my preliminary settings. I've changed a couple things since then, but this setup with the Pierburg valve works.
