MMC caster/camber plates

I've just completed a front brake upgrade, suspension rebuild on my '86. I'll give as much information as I can think of so someone might be able to comment on my problem.
NAPA reman rack (performance suspension) and power steering pump, Motorcraft outer tie rods, poly rack bushings, poly swaybar bushings, Prothane swaybar links, FMS M-3075-A A arms, '88 TC spindles, Mustang GT rotors, new bearings/seals, NAPA reman '88 TC calipers, NAPA flex hoses, KYB struts, and MMC caster/camber plates.
With the MMC plates I can only get 1 1/2 to 2 degrees of castor. I had to flip one of the plates, driver side, to get -1/2 deg camber.
According to MMC the plates should be good for up to 6 deg castor. The only thing I see as different as far as the suspension are the spindles and struts. Anyone know if the angle of the strut mounts on the spindles are the same between '86 and '88?
I did not observe any differences in my casual examination of the two spindles, likewise with the FMS A arms. Anyone with an idea of what's going on?

Not sure what front A-arms those are but if they are for an 88 they are longer than what you had on there. So...if you lowered the car very much the combination of longer A-arms, and lowered front end give you less room for adjustment. Either change by itself and you'll need the MM plates to get the needed adjustment.

I would think though that even with both you'd have more adjustment left than what your saying.

A arms are FMS replacements for Mustang of the same year, not the longer A arms of 87/88. Visually they look the same and have been recommended by several board members as replacements. They have a "better" ball joint and new bushings. No lowering, stock springs.
The only suspension items that are not intended for the 86 are the 88 spindles and struts. The struts are KYB, 235008 Front strut, GR2, Lincoln Mark VII.
