Let us remember why this holiday exists and what it cost this country and it's people. Thank you to all that have, are or will serve.

Somebody posted this photo on Facebook today: http://natomessageboard.com/uploads/0000...0554_n.jpg

Unfortunately, it's all too appropriate these days.
We're headed to Arlington National Cemetery tomorrow to visit with my and my wife's grandfathers; both of whom served in WW2.

As a Veteran, I know all too well the sacrifices given by our verterans. I have visited Arlington and the Arizona memorial at Pearl Harbor, and the feelings that go through you are moving and humbling.

Always "remember" that freedom ain't free and support all those who serve or have served.

When we went to Hawaii a few years ago, the absolute high point of the trip for me was visiting the Arizona Memorial. It brought me to tears. Right now, I am watching the WWII in HD marathon on H2. Its a great reminder of what today is really all about.

A BIG THANK YOU to all who have served, and are currently serving in our armed forces defending our country and our way of life!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm a Navy veteran also. The most moving experience that I remember was being able to stand on the deck of the USS Missouri and view the surrender plaque on the quarter deck. This was in Bremerton WA before they moved it to Pearl Harbor. I still need to get there to so the Arizona though.

All I can say is "Thank you" to who have and are serving in the military. Remembering friends gone forever except in memories.

N8 & JeffK, Being on the Arizona memorial was the sole purpose of my trip to Oahu. I am sort of a history buff and military history is my focus. It also brought tears to my eyes and a heavyness to my heart. Those who volunteer now know the risks and give their all to protect and serve our country to preserve our way of life.

Bless all who serve!!
