Hello folks,
It's been a long time since I posted, but wanted to report that I took my Bird on the honeymoon to Niagara Falls, Canada, down to the Poconos in PA, and back to Connecticut with absolutely no problems. As long as I didn't use the turbocharger too much, I got around 26.5 MPH. Bird has 64,000 miles so far. One guy in upstate NY waved me over and wanted to buy it. I told him that it was my new car, that I had gone out of state to find it, and that it was not for sale. My new wife loves the car (although she enjoyed the torque and cornering of the Mustang GT). Got the AC recharged, fixed the rear end with new seals before I left and no problems. This TC is one fine car (after 4 or 5 times in the shop) and I have all of you to thank for the detailed information. I have some stories to relate, but no time to do it now. (Ask me about the encounter with the Saab Turbo on the Merritt Parkway). See you all later! -Kent

Thanks guys,
When I was coming back up the Merritt Parkway, there was a kid behind me with a Turbo Saab starting to tailgate. My new wife was asleep, so I was free to play. Hit the gas, and pulled away quickly. Noticed the kid behind me was trying to accelerate, but there was no way he could catch me. Had the 95 MPH odometer all the way over, and then some. Walked away from the late model Saab. Later on when I let him pass me, he wouldn't even look my way. Ford built a little extra into these cars when they manufactured them. All I had not stock was the K &N intake, the dual exhaust and downpipes, and the Gillis valve set to 17 pounds. Thanks for your kind comments. I have been having a blast since I got this car running good (about $4500 added on to the purchase price), and very rarely event start up the Mustang anymore. The people on this board have been highly supportive. Again, thank you. -Kent

I have blown away turbo Saab's before. Dunno what is is but they seem faster when you are not driving a TC than when you are driving a TC.
