Lowering springs

Hi guys, I'd like to start off by saying what a great site this is for finding out everything you would ever want to know about Turbo Coupes. This is my first post but have lurked around for quite some time soaking up info about my 87 Turbo Coupe.

I want to lower my car and have found that direct fit kits are no longer available. I am looking to lower my car 1.5".
I have thought about ordering from coilsprings.com but after doing a search on the subject have learned that some of you have had to cut the front springs to get the ride height even. Has anyone tried coilsprings.com lately? Have they figured out how to lower our cars without having to cut the front springs? I'd prefer not to have to cut new springs.

My first choice for springs would be a set of Eibach that lower 1.5"...if I could only find some. I would appreciate any feedback from guys that have used the Eibach springs, postive or negative. I've also wondered if a 1.5" drop is too much or if 1" is the way to go. I don't want the car too low, but lowered just right without making it ride like a cement truck. Thanks for any input.

I used Eibach Springs(front only) that were from an old Kenny Brown kit for a Mustang. Then for the rear I modified the lower arm mounts on the rearend to drop it by 1 1/2". I used stock rear 88 springs. The ride is slightly harder than a stock TC but the handling is awesome.

Thanks Jeff, I'll take your advice and talk to coilsprings.com. The mods you list in your signature are what I have planned some day for my car. How much horsepower have they gotten you? I would like to get around the 300hp mark.

russ c, did you use Kenny Brown parts to lower the rear? I was just wondering what you did to modify the rear lower arms.

No idea on the HP my combo puts out. Never been on the dyno or at the track. All I know is that the first words out of most people I take for a ride at WOT running thru 1st, 2nd and 3rd is screaming "HOLY SHIT".
