lowered car problems/questions

So this is the second time this has happened. I cut my springs a while back and dropped the car around 1.5"s and the sway bar bushing bolts come loose from time to time I actually heard the bolt drop while I was hitting a corner lol. My buddy said something about sometimes you need to cut the sway bar end links and shorten them to compensate for the drop. My question how much should I cut the links. Also should I run a bump steer kit while im at it???

thanks everyone

shorter endlinks arent a bad idea, but offset tierod ends or a bumpsteer kit are probably not necessary unless handling is suffering.

does the nose dart around over uneven surfaces, or heavy braking?
does the steering wheel jerk at all over uneven surfaces, or heavy braking?

if not, then offset tie-rod ends dont need to be installed.
the goal is just to make sure everything moves on a similar arc to minimize toe change during suspension travel.

Well it does dart around a tiny bit during braking but at the same time I do have warped rotors lol. I've been holding off replacing them so those might be the culprit for the darting. I was told by stinger that shorter sway bar end links do exist for sale but I have yet to find them. When you install the links and bushings are you supposed to tighten this stuff up in a certain order ? And is it supposed to be on the ground or is the tires able to be off the ground?

I found these but I am confused on what one to get since our cars will accept everything from fox body suspension all the way up to SN95 suspension as well lol...

raising the rack with offset bushings will help the bump steer. depending on how much you lowered the car, you may still need the bumpsteer kit.....and nothing will cure the poor camber curve of a severely lowered car short of re-engineering the whole front suspension. strut cars already have a less than desirable camber curve from the factory.

on the end links.....the measurements are listed. measure your stock ones and order accordingly.

Is there a certain formula for figuring out how much shorter the links should be?

Will fox body offset bushings work on a turbo coupe steering rack? Thought I read people stating it won't work..

it's the same rack as a mustang.

about 3/4" shorter if your car is lowered 1 1/2". if you lowered the car much more than that, you're asking for trouble.

So I take it you cut the Tbird factory springs. If you cut a Mustang spring 1.5" you do need a Bump Steer kit (Tie Rod Ends) for sure. I have SN95 pieces, Fox body threads didn't match up.
You may already know this but I'll say it anyway...The Tie Rods are supposed to be matched to the same angle as your A-Arms, not parallel to the ground.
On another note, I don't trust those Off Set Rack Bushings. Those caused my Mustangs Steering Column to come loose from the Steering Wheel Shaft at random.

Actually I initially cut my stock t bird springs but did it too much and it was way too low. So I sourced a set of used stock Sn95 front springs put them in and my tc sat really high up front so I cut those but used way more caution this time when cutting them. It sits perfect but To be honest it's kinda bouncy on the highway so I was thinking about seeing if "lowering" springs for a v6 sn95 would make it low and not as bouncy.

Regardless it sounds like I might need a bump steer kit and either run shorter sway bar links or cut my stock ones a little bit. I'll try to get a few pictures of the car on a flat surface from the underneath so maybe you guys can give me a idea of how bad it is.
