low throttle pinging

hi, i have an 87 5speed. i noticed that most of the time when i accelerate from a stop( from zero to mabey 15kmph) that my car seems to ping. i have never noticed this durring WOT. i have checked iginition timing and cam timing, both are good. i was thinkin that since i have a sizable vac\boost leak that it was running lean causing the detonation. my question is has anyone ever had a similar experince, or know what could be casuing this problem?

Sounds to me like you answered your own question. Fix the leak. If you still got the problem I will refund your money

Leak under low throttle (vacuum) will cause a lean condition, while the same leak under boost will cause a rich condition, as metered air is being vented. Under vac, unmetered aor is being sucked in.
