Lost Power to Radio

Sorry about another radio post, but I did try doing a search on this. The aftermarket radio was working fine. I shut it off, got out of the car, and when I got back in no power. I checked the fuse and changed it. The power antenna is still working, so I'm assuming the circuit still has power. I tried to swap out the radio with a known working unit and no power to that one either.
I had a problem with the circuit breaker to the fuel door too. Don't know if that has any relevence or just coinsidance?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

anything else? dash lights and all work? could be time for a ignition switch. under the collar on the column. pull the cover off to see if the switch is seperating. if so, replace it. it can cause alot of nastiness if it shorts inside.
88tc (sold) but keeping an eye out.

The radio, prem sound and pwr antenna are all on fuse 11.

The fuel door is fuse 10

Thanks Pete, Yah I was begging for a connection there. Is there a fuse somewhere between the breaker box and the plug on the end of the harness?

I sent you some schematics. You may need to sort the order of the files

No power yet. I checked all the troubleshooting hints except the ground lead. Since I'm a little green when it comes to electrical work, I don't really know how to check that. I have to check the wiring schemematics for the right wire? Does anyone know where this wire is grounded? It might just be easier to check the other end.
Pete, Thanks again for the info.

I don't know exactly where that ground is. Someone here will know. For future reference there is a list of grounds here; http://www.turbotbird.com/FAQpage/FAQpag...0Locations

go to wallmart if u dont already have one and look for a "power tester" (its like $5)in the section with all the fuzes and bulbs,,,i dont know how much you know about wiring but ive had my share of electrical problems with my cars in the past so i learned a thing or two...the "power tester" is easy to use..hook the gator clamp to a known ground and touch the radios power wire...(make sure key is turned foward) if the tester dont glow then your not getting any power...if the tester does glow then its probely your ground..hook the gator clamp to the radios ground then put the other end of the tester to a known power...if the tester dont glow then its your ground...if you wanted to make a new ground there should be two spots behind the dash that'l be perfect (stick your head under the dash so your head is touching the gas pedal and your face is touching the floor..by your right ear there should be a few grounds screwed into the metal dash structure...unscrew and add your new ground then hook it up to the black wire on the headunits harness and you should be set...hope this helps ya....enjoy
