line for fuel gauge

since i want to watch the fuel pressure while driving, I want to make a fuel line for my gauge. I see summit racing has the stainless steel line 6 an for like 13 bucks. the adapter to the fuel rail is a female 1/8 npt. and the fuel aguge is a male 1/8 npt. they sell adapters from npt to an, but how do you attach the fittings to the hose? and will they work with the pressure of the fuel system?

You will need to but the kit that is made to mount a fuel gauge in the car. They have an isolator which prevents the fuel from entering inside the car. You don't want the chance of Gas leaking into the cockpit & starting a fire.

i dont want to mount it permanenty. just use it so I can check fuel pressure while driving when i get the new pump and AFPR installed

Then might I suggest a temporary mount to the rear edge of the hood, OUTSIDE the passenger compartment. As Tony said, you DO NOT want fuel lines running into the passenger compartment.

IME, "temporary" usually lasts a lot longer than planned! [Image: biggrin.gif]

EDIT: To answer your question, the AN fittings I've used are two piece and screw together, clamping the hose between the pieces.

yea I dont want to run it inside. I will make a mount for the hood and use it for fuel system checks. I jsut cant afford a fuel pressure kit for the inside.
