I finally replaced the computer and it solved all of the remaining computer/electrical problems. A local SVO afficionado/former Ford mechanic let me have a couple of PC1s for $25. He also found a crack in my exhaust manifold and volunteered to help me replace it and anything else I need a hand with.

So, the car still needs a lot of things, but one major PITA is gone, and it looks like some other things will be easier to fix than I originally thought.
