make SURE the gasket from the old oil filter comes off with the filter!

im glad it was just walmart synthetic ($12)

i dont think i need to get into too much detail on this one.
88 TC, 170k, K&N, $5 Boostvalve, Stinger 3" ex., 3" Magnaflow, 3" Stinger tail, Zoom clutch
15.26 @ 86mph, 2.18 60' killed valvetrain & headgasket

haha, yea thats always a good thing todo even just glance at the old filter to make sure it is on there. that sucks. atleast the under side will resist water now that its oil basted.

hey bhazard. I feel for you. I double check every time now, after that happened to me in my 88tc once. oooo, i shake my fists thinking of that day and thats all I'm gonna mention.

Hate to admit this.. but I did that once when my '87 (RIP) was new.. dam thing had terrible oil pressure and leaked! (I did the oil changes on it) Worse part about it was... I took it to the dealership to have it checked out.. mechanic laughed me out the door when he came to the desk holding up 2 gaskets...

lol... i only laugh at you guys because I have done the same thing. you ain't an oil-changer til you've put two gaskets on an oil filter. =P
