I have had LED headlights in our 5 cars for several years now. I LOVE them!! I can actually see at night! Never been flashed by approaching cars, and never been pulled over by the cops. I did aim the headlights down a few degrees in a few of the cars.

Did you make any modifications to the housing?    Did you buy the $70 kit or the $40?  Thanks, Fred

Looks good.

Does High Beam and Low Beam work correctly? Does your sentry light go on saying you have a headlight out?

My system sentry comes on for headlights and tail / brake lights since those are also LED (every bulb in both my Tbirds have been switched to LED).

I just took a piece of some adhesive backed nearly black thin rubber like stuff I had laying around, cut a rectangular piece to cover up the headlamp and park / brake lamp out indicators.

I spent $39 on Amazon!

HIKARI 9004/HB1 LED Headlight bulbs, New Gen of Japanese CSP LED Tech, Adjustable Beam, Easy install, 10000lm 6K Cool White IP68

The annunciator panel light for headlamp out comes on when the low beams are on...going to try Jeff's idea when I get my CRV back together.

Bare with my terminology a bit, but the cylindrical bulb holder that screws in and holds the bulbs snug in the sockets needed a slit about 1/8 inch wide about halfway down it so the wires had a place to go.

I got my 9004 LED headlights for the TC from Ebay for around $25. They were 100% plug and play..... zero mods needed and it took maybe 10 minutes to install them. I dont remember the vendor or brand as I did this several years ago.

Many years ago, I got rid of the sealed beams in my 4 eyed 86 Tbird 5.0 and replaced them with aftermarket housings with clear lenses (no fluting) units I picked up from Amazon that take 9007 bulbs. 3 or 4 years ago I replaced the incandescent 9007 bulbs with 9007 LED bulbs from Ebay that were also 100% plug and play.

Let me add to this thread: I too have upgraded to these LED headlamps, and I too am very pleased. I have not had any issues with oncoming cars flashing me, but I did have an issue with the LOW BEAM OUT lamp in the System Sentry, Simple enough—remove the LED (or lamp, if that’s what you have) and problem solved.

The price has doubled though: as of this writing—February 16, 2021—the price on Amazon is now $90.

I just installed the LED headlights.  It took me awhile to figure out how to get the collar back on.  I ended up notching out a space for the wire, then it would sit in there straight.  I have to check the aim of them, but if I have to adjust, how do I do that?

There are adjustment screws on the headlight bracket for up/down and side to side. Look at where the lens is attached to the bracket you will see them. Park about 6 feet from a wall with the lights on, you should be able to determine the center of the light beam and you can mark that with painters tape and use that mark to verify your adjustments.
