How rare - if it is actually rare - to have the leather 2-tone interior in the 87-88s? Sunroof & all? I got my eye on one....damn headgasket cars be good deals! lol

Don't know but I see a lot of people that say "all options except sunroof and leather."

20 year old leather seats are most likely going to be a liability, not an asset...

My experience with unheated leather seats is that my butt gets cold before the seat gets warm.

Mine has a sunroof but no leather. I *really* didn't want the sunroof but my wish to replace my TC with another one trumped that. There's times I like it and 8 years later, I guess I'm glad it has one. Still though, I look at a sunroof as another place to leak. This one hasn't leaked water yet but does make massive amounts of wind noise (its at its quietest when the back is raised). I've got the seals just haven't gotten around to putting them on yet.

I really didn't know much about the options on a TC until well after I owned one and stumbled on this site. My first TC I thought was loaded like a towncar (I was comparing it to my previous car - 1984 Lynx) and then after coming here I learned it was a TC with very few options. But it did set the hook Smile

As for leather, I had a car with that and will NEVER own another car w/o cloth seats. Nothing wakes you up faster than rushing out to the car and sitting down on leather when its ~0* F outside. Then when its sunny and the seat gets HOT... If I lived somewhere that had more stable temps and/or could park in a ramp at work along with the garage at home my opinion might change but as of now leather looks awesome... in your car!

If you have the space and all - go for it. If nothing else you could use seat covers and pull them when you want to show it off Smile

Of 14 '87-'88 TC I've owned 4 had leather, one was a blue/blue 5-speed and all other options including Moon Roof... A second blue/blue was auto and no sunroof but was otherwise loaded... Also had a black with red int and a white with red, both were high option, moon roof 5 speed cars...

My keepers do not have leather, moon roof or ATC...
