Bad FPR, bad pump, plugged fuel filter, plugged filter sock in tank. As you sure your pressure gauge is accurate?

If you buy some cheap crap pumps from places like Auto Zone, then yes, they will only last a short time. Buy a high quality well made pump, and it will easily last 100K ++ miles.

Biggest thing to remember about fuel injeted vehicles is that the fuel pump is COOLED BY THE FUEL IN THE TANK. If you let 'em get too low too often then it would be bad for the pump...to date I have NEVER had to replace a pump in any of my TC's...KNOCK ON WOOD!!! course I never let it get below 1/8 anyway...accel on turns and it wants to bog. As Jeff stated you get what you pay for MOST of the time...buy a GOOD Quality pump and do it one time...
