Bare with me here..

i was wondering...If i were to get a speedo that was in KM/H and mph in the background, can you calibrate it to work (mph) in the km/h range, since its the main reading? Might be a stupid question. lol Just curious

pretty much just switching the mph and kmh to read opposite.

exactly. but you can calibrate it. right? So why not make the km/h numbers be the mph numbers by calibrating it?

I understand what you are getting at. I had thought about getting the 200kph recalibrated so that it read 200 mph. But if there's a KMH version that is standard and reads to say 140... now we are talking, that's the one that I want to recal. There was also a write up somewhere on here where you could do an overlay on the 85 speedo and recal it to read 140.

There was a company that I contacted about recalibrating it to read MPH. Said it would cost me about $150 + shipping. I'll check my mails to see if I still have it.

If you can find the instructions to change the normal speedo to a 140 most of it will apply. The only difference will be the value of the capacitor that gets replaced.

Any reputable speedo company can do it for you. $150 is ridiculous, but I think around $65-$75 is reasonable.
