Keyless entry install

Ok I have an 88 stripped down car. No options.
The drivers door and fender got hit a while back, so I bought a same color doner car but it has keyless entry. I have stripped the car and pulled the harnesses out but I was wondering if anyone has added this to their car and how hard it is to integrate. If it can be made standalone that would be great but I don't have enough info on it yet. Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks
Tim

Do a search for this topic, I asked this question a few years ago and got some good replies. I think the summary impression was that "nothing is impossible, but this comes close" If you do an internet search for "Keyless Entry" you may find the company that built them for Ford, they are in California. They offer their product for aftermarket installation. It is the same as what was factory on our TC's. If I find the company I will post it. The price was around 250.00

Here is the site I found. From what I can remember from speaking to them last year, they are the manufactures of the Ford Keyless Entry and Ford has exclusive rights to it, but they can sell to private individuals.

Here is a video of the unit being installed on Youtube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F6fICh8iKG0

Hmmm funny I'm thinking of doing the same thing. I have a wiring harness from a parts car and some module which I believe is the relay/controler (It was mounted in the trunk). Can someone confirm this for me?

I have installed the power locks/ actuators in the doors and have run the wires into the car; I just left them there for now until I figure out what I need for relays. But I got looking and figured I might try to add this keypad/keyless entry in somewhere inconspicuous. Maybe underneath by where the license plate goes.

So basically I cut all these wires out of a parts car and have no clue what is what in this giant wiring harness, which goes to the module in the trunk. Does someone have a wiring diagram of all the wires that go into this module and where they go/do? Thanks for the help,
Matt

Ps, I thought it was time for a comfy desk chair. Car seats make for some real comfy reclining desk chairs ☺ ☺ ☺

Tbird1983: Yes that is the keyless entry module in the first couple of photos. On that white sticker (which is VERY important) should be a 5-digit number which is the code you need in order to use it. Without that code on the sticker, there is no way that I know of to find the keyless entry code without a LOT of trial and error... and error... and error.

you can find the code with otu the number by opening up the module and counting where the resistors are place on the board...... worst case...

I thought it over and I change my mind about adding the keyless entry, I'd rather not add too much crap I wont use. Can I just buy the relays I need to make the door power locks work instead? I have heard in some cars they have a relay under the passenger seat which is solely for the power locks? If so where can I buy these/ how many do i need, and is this all I will need to hook up my power locks (I have the actuators hooked up and the unlock/lock buttons on the doors hooked up).
