K&N getting wet from being parked

For all of those who have their K&N filter located just in front of the radiator, or if you have some info on the subject. I was just wondering, when your car is parked and it's raining does your filter get wet from water getting into the small opening between your hood and the grill? On my setup my filter gets wet and when it rains hard it gets soaked with just my car being parked. I am worried that's it's going to damage my filter or even my car. Should I relocate my filter? If I do, does it need to be reoiled (the filter is brand new)? or all that rain is nothing to worry about?

Thanks

I had the same exact problem when my filter was routed in front of the radiator, so I decided to just mount it in the fenderwell instead. The oil film on the filter should be resistant to the water, so you shouldn't have to re-oil unless you notice that the water managed to rinse off any of the oil.

If I was you I would move the filter because if your filter is wet, more than likely your engine is going to be sucking in water also.

well for this problem u gotta think like the imports, get a summit or import mag, and look for an Aem Bypass valve for the intake, you put it on your intake so it wont suck water, sand, what have you, its like 45 bucks and its def a must have if you got a front mount filter, so you can keep it in front of the rad and be ok
