two things, id like to put the 6" cone in my 87tc, but what is the part number? second, does anybody have pics of one that is already installed, before i take the stock airbox out, id kind of like to see what its supposed to look like with the cone in. thanx

There are at least two different articles on the K&N install in the Technical Articles. Where you put it is up to you. The articles will mention a couple variations

yah, ive read the article, but there are more than 1 6" filter, so i was wondering which one is the one mentioned in the article

sorry, didnt click on the links. lol, so when you did this you mounted it in the fender, right? i think when i do it, im going to try and put it right were the stock air filter is. now does anybody have any pics of this?

See the very last photo, at the bottom of the page, in the second article linked above. You can sort of see the end of the filter in front of the radiator support wall.

You can mount it right on the VAM, but then you get hot engine compartment air.

Mine is routed out beside the radiator to in front of the radiator support wall. Other people make a right turn and run it out into the fender. It make no difference from a performance stand point, it's all the same air
