Junk Removal

So we've been amassing a decent amount of junk around the house for many years now. We recently decided to get it out of here. I'm talking old high chairs, a crib, couple of couches, couple of mattresses, a rather large awning frame, riding lawnmower, old stove, subwoofer box, etc. etc. etc... It was a lot of crap.

So what to do... the options were basically rent a truck, get another dumpster, or call one of those junk collectors. Well renting a truck would probably have been the cheapest option, but we really didn't feel like loading this crap in to a truck and making a couple of trips to the dump, so that was out. Getting a dumpster for a week is now at least $500 around here. So we called around some of the junk collectors, figuring they would be more expensive than a dumpster... NOPE.

We ended up having a couple fellas from "Get it Gone" junk removal come out. Real nice guys - they got here on time, loaded up the truck, talked cars a bit, and left. The truck was overflowing be the time all of it was in there, but they only charged us for the 3/4 full price of $375. Best part is I didn't have to lift a finger to load the crap up.

So if anyone in the DC area needs junk removed, I'd give them a call. They are in Waldorf and were happy to drive out here to Nokesville (~1.5 hour drive). Very happy with them.

I never part with my personal junk. I might need it someday for something. On the other hand, the wife has tons of useless crap everywhere I would love to see end up in the dump. For some strange reason, her view is exactly opposite of mine.
