Joe,

Did you do any additional bracing on the strut towers with this? I've been considering coil overs as I need to re-do my front suspension this winter. I know the Mustang guys do this all the time, but I'm nervous about all the suspension load moving up to the shock towers.

No extra bracing. I too was a little concerned about that, but talked to the guys at Maximum Motorsports who told me that they've had a few converted daily-driver Mustangs on the streets for several years with zero trouble.

So I went ahead and bought the stuff, and when I took the old stuff off and looked at the strut tower real close my fears were gone; it's not just thin sheet metal on top, it's already pretty darn thick. I think it's going to be just fine.

However a strut tower brace is a definate possibility somewhere down the line for different reasons.

Thanks Joe,

I will be watching for your impressions as you get some miles on the set-up. I'm not going to start gasthering parts for mine untill the fall, so you shaould have good experience by then. Redoing EVERYTHING in the rear of mine has exposed how poor the frontend is [Image: smile.gif]

Not specifically but I'm hoping the mustang units may fit; otherwise it'll be a custom made job by a friend of mine who does stainless tubing stuff for a living. He's also the best welder I'm ever met!

Bob,
What did you do to the rear end? Anything radical? I'm contemplating a torque arm suspension with pan hard bar and coil overs.

I know most people do the rear first, but my front end was really bad, so I had to do something up there or I'm afraid I wouldn't have made it to Carlisle!
