ive made several posts about what my car was doing , well in the case what it wasnt doing , but now that im back on the road with it ive noticed that under heavy boost that theres a lot of black smoke comming out of the exaust, my dad who is an engine builder and mechanic said that the computer is adding to much fuel and causing the smoke to appear, i was wondering if anyone else has experienced this and how i can overcome it , the car is completely stock except for a manual boost control that i made out of parts from my local hardware shop and its set to i believe the highest ive seen was 15 pounds of boost, i just have done a tune up consisitng of cap rotor, bosch wires[my parts guy didnt stock motorcraft] and autolite 764's, could any one of these parts be causing this?

Have you pulled the codes yet? What did you get for each part of the test? http://www.turbotbird.com/techinfo/Retri..._codes.htm

Check your intercooler hoses again, even though you said you've hit 15 lbs of boost.
the most common cause of the black smoke is boost leak. the computer reads how much fuel to add, based on the air that has been metered by the VAM, if you have a leak in the intake system, you will be getting too much fuel.

could a leak at the vaccum tree cause to much of a leak and how much vaccum at idle should i see? and this morning when i was driving to school i noticed that when im under heavy load and about 5 pounds of boost that it seems like the car is hesitating and sounds like its skipping? or something sometimes it will pull fine and others it will hesitate and miss like nothing ive ever seen.

Assuming a stock or stock type cam, you should see 18-21" of vacuum at idle, with the engine warm and cam and ignition timing correct
