Just now really tearing things down for the engine replacement. Just wondering if it will cause any problems with the A/C gone. I don't use it so why have it taking up space.

It won't hurt anything to remove it. By the same token, you do not have to remove to pull the engine. Just detach it and wire out of the way toward the passenger fender. BTDT

Don't vent it into the atmosphere. That's just damn wrong. If you want to get it removed, get a shop to vent it. It's also illegal. The gov makes shops contain that stuff for a reason. Not all that good for the big blue and green ball we spin on.
