Have an 88 tc has had the interior lights and door lock illuminators on for about 6 months pulled all interior bulbs and the led lock lights don't use enough juice to run batt. down over night.Have finally had enough of this problem pulled keyless entry box out of trunk everything still acts the same.Took door panel off and unplugged and reconnected keypad it will light up for about 5 seconds then it goes out and will not come on til it's unplugged and reconnected. Has anyone ever run into this before? This poor thing doersn't get driven very often anymore and when it does it seems to have a new electrical issues.Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Did you check the switches (plungers) in the door jams?

If you manually push door switches the lights will dim a little, but not go out.I had thought the light dimmer switch had shorted or had a wire melted together etc. but I've found nothing with the wiring that looks suspicious.

Here are a list of electrical issues this thing has first a/c quit turning compressor on so I run a fused jumper wire to manually turn compressor on.2nd oil press. water temp. and fuel gauge in gauge cluster quit I found a wire in the pass. kick panel I could jump to another wire after changing out several different parts. Now gauges work til car gets to 1/4 tank then oil and water are pegged wide open.3rd. occasionally the heater control flashes whatever temp its displaying and whatever function and fan speed it's set on usually turn car off the start back the heater controls will stay lit like they're suppose to.4th. interior light issue 5th only one of the electric fans kicks on like its suppose to so there again a jumper wire now both fans work like they should or at least used to.Any info into any of this electrical nightmare would be GREATLY appreciated.the electrical gremlins are just about to get the best of this thing. Also none of the wires have ever been cut just peeled a piece of the insulation off and attached jumper

My suggestion would be to stop jumping unknown wires together.

It sounds like you are powering the dash cluster off of the low fuel light module. Also, the two fans are not supposed to come on at the same time, the smaller one should rarely if ever come on without the A/C running. It is designed as a back up to the big one, in the case of the car REALLY trying to overheat. Jumping the two together may not hurt anything though. As far as the A/C, their is a low, and High pressure cut out switch to keep you from burning up the compressor. I would check continuity on both of those and have the pressure in the system checked before I would start jumping wires together.

As far as the interior lights, you may want to try unplugging the "handle lift" sensor, and also unplug the dimmer/ headlight switch (and also first, make sure it is not turned all of the way up).

Did you check both door pins? I cannot find the wiring diagram, otherwise I could offer some more advice.
