it will get softer. im the one who wrote the article about it. mine still looks good. my driver seat is just as soft as it was before the paint, my passenger is softer, but could still use some breaking in, i think its only been sit in a couple times since the paint/dye.

i loved the results. i did mine to try to, because ive thought of it on other cars ive had but never took the jump. so with my seats being faded black, pretty much blue, i figured it couldnt get worse! the only thing ive read it, depending on the wear conditions, you get 1-2 years outta a job. so you figure about 4 cans for from and back. it took me less than 2 cans for my fronts. its worth it to me to take a day and redo em every year or so. i would invest in a sunshade for the windshield and try and get window tint if you dont already have it. to try and help keep out the sun.

looks good man! Red looks brighter tho! gunna have to do everything to match now! haha

So far I've only painted the one seat. I figured I would see how well I would like it before I went any further. As of right now I think it's a huge improvement.

I am debating on finding a darker shade of red before I go any further. The difference in the shades of red are more noticeable in the picture than they are in petson.

It basically took four cans of paint for that one seat, two cans of black and two cans of red.

have u tried spraying closer? thats what i did, it took me less than 2 cans to do the black on my seats. when i sprayed mine i covered about 3"stripes with every pass, if that makes since, it looks like i was putting it on with a brush. you couldnt see overspray like you can on metal.

it shouldnt take 2 cans of red to do the seats, and the black should cover pretty good, always easier to cover lighter colors with darker colors.

Shouldn't but did. The black covered but it had a reddish tint to it. The red paint just didn't want to cover. The fact that it was a shade lighter probably didn't help any.

What are you guys using to paint the cloth? I like the two tone idea. I was actually thkining about doing the outside of my seats in dark blue leather and the inside in cloth Ford Blue. I might be able to get away with just the paint and no leather. Tell me more
