I'm getting ready to put my new motor in my '88 and I'm going to install my front mount Probe intercooler. First what are everyone's thoughts about using PVC pipe? Could it handle the heat and/or pressure. OR the rubber hoses that came off the Probe? I plan on using the BOV from the Probe but would like some feedback/ideas about the pipes from the turbo/intercooler/throttle body.

I had a PVC pipe nipple (1" diameter) going from my bypass valve to the IC. It ended up getting all distorted from the heat.

Instead of PCV try to find some Aluminium piping something that can handle the heat....um go over to www.turboford.org and ask them what they used.... alot of ford turbo owners over there ..... I have no clue what Gator used but asked him he has one setup for his SVO and a sweet one at that or maybe GT350R might know....
Hey GT350R Do you have pics of his SVO???

I was considering using copper plumbing fittings for my BPV I/C connection. There is a wide variety and they can be soldered together.
Do you think copper will hold up ?

I'm going to use 2-1/4" steel tube for my IC tubing. I got a handful of 45's, 90's and a U bend from JCWhitney (all Walker #'s). I'm basically going to do the cut, fit and tack-weld method to get it all proper and then weld it up, clean them up and have them powder coated...maybe JetHot depending on the cost. I can usually get good personal prices on my stuff from our powder coater. The steel is just easier for me to weld at home..but aluminum would be nice..just more expensive.
My personal opinion on PVC is that it's good under a sink, but not under a hood.
My Bosch BPV is connected to a 1" steel bung on my temporary turbo-to-TB tube and a similar fitting between the VAM and turbo. Dan, I used a brass fitting originally , I don't see why the copper wouldn't hold up too. I amd just using the black version of the reinforced tubing as the hoses for the BVP, but they are wrapped in heat shield wrap as is the BPV.

This will sound wierd but people in Puerto Rico go to muffler shops and have pipes bent to there needs, some muffler shops even carry chrome (stanless) piping I have seen some hondas that look like they spent mega bucks and they were done at a local shop, My TC is getting fitted as we speak with the blow off valve.( intercooler)

Dan.... thats what I ended up replacing my PVC piping to my BP valve with -- copper. Should hold up well. The solder doesnt melt until 700 deg or so.

Everyone in California goes to the local muffler shop and has them custom bend the piping. Its a no brainer for those muffler shop guys. Be the first in your town to do so and eveyone will be flocking to that muffler shop especially the rice racers. The muffler shop owner will love you.

My personal preference is to do it myself....
That way I have only myself to blame if things go wrong, and I can also take all the creadit when things go right. Besides..it gives me something to do and helps improve my fab skills....
