Instrument Cluster Swap

Hey everyone,
I removed the instrument cluster from my parts car and I’m looking to install it in my current car, because it’s got the 200Km/h speedo. Does anyone know if I will be able to just plug it right in or will I need to do some calibration changes for anything? Other then the odometer being different of course.

Also I’ve got a autometer vacuum and boost gauge I’m thinking of installing in the factory clock location. I was thinking I would plumb it into the line for the factory boost gauge. Anyone see any problems with doing this? I'm thinking maybe there is a check valve that wont allow me to read vacuum??

Thanks

what year cars are involved and do they share the same trans?

You can source the gage to the existing boost gauge line. It sees vacuum.

They are both Manual 5 speed 88's

That's good to hear about the boost gauge, simplfies things.

Thanks

Since the trans and therefore the rear axles should be the same, it should drop in, no calibratiom

I thought I'd update this just incase it comes up in someones search in the future. The swap worked perfectly fine.... The only problem now is fighting the temptation to put the needle into the higher digits. Big Grin
