I want brighter dash lighting in my car and was thinking of installing 168s or LEDs. Any issues with this? Will the 168s be to hot?

168: 0.35A at 14V = 4.9 watts; 3 candlepower

194: 0.27A at 14V = 3.8 watts; 2 candlepower

found this on the net, hope this will help you decide.

LEDs should be brighter but will draw less current and be cool in multiple ways ;-)

LEDs are also available in several colors if that's to your liking.

I'm thinking LEDs if you want to pay the extra dough.

I had 77 f100 with bad connectors for the instrument lights, I got the self adhesive led strip from walmart and it worked great. Not sure if it would work here but something to think about.
