Installing Power Passengers Seat -

I have an 1988 TC that presently has only the drivers side Power Seat. My son and I are assembling the ( Ford OEM TC Specific ) parts to install the passenger side power seat.

I have done no dis-assembly of the interior as of yet.

I have been led to believe that there are in the existing factory interior wiring harness the appropriate plugs for both the Power seat tracks and the second seat control switch.

Has any one in NATO already done this "upgrade using FoMoCo OEM parts ???

And if so can anyone verify if this information as to he plugs for this conversion as already being part of my TC's existing harness ??

If the plugs / connectors are NOT in the harness then what do I need to do to facilitate this change and do it in a safe and proper manner.

Any help , or insigh will be appreciated .

Thanks:

E. J.

I only had power to the drivers seat and didn't see any wiring for the pass side but can verify. If you need it I have a harness with both and te switches if you need them

Thanks very much for the insight. The "Power Passenger Seat" is something that my son and I have been contemplating for about a year. Probably my biggest regret is not having ordered that option when I originally bought my TC.

That said we will be taking a hard look as to how the parts cost ( the TC is a father and son project that has a budget we so far have stayed within )and potential complexity in the next two weeks. At that point we will make decision and if that is to go forward I will contact you as to the availability and pricing of the harness and switch assemblies.

My sincere thanks for your reply and offer.

You will also need a power seat base, pass is different from drivers side.

You are correct - We found that out early on as we looked into the possibility of making the upgrade. From the NATO site we have found a member with a Passenger side power seat track that he is willing to sell from a parts car.

We are awaiting photos from the seller verifying a fully functioning set of servo motors and a FoMoCo original Harness assembly and connectors in working condition.

Thanks for the information.

Hope that you found the pics of our 88T C we sent interesting

I also have a passenger side power seat base from an 87 TC that I will sell for $40 plus shipping. I do not have the wiring for it. I sold that with the interior wiring harness. Based on another 87 TC that I had that did not have the power passenger seat, there is a plug that is blanked off on the interior wiring harness to connect the passenger power seat wiring. I believe it is under the console.
