I am finally going to install my new shocks and struts and I have searched and searched and cannot find anything on how to replace the shocks and struts. what I mean is ..is there any specific way to install the actuator? I know they only move about a quarter turn, but how do I know that the actuator and the shock/strut are both in the same mode?? firm/soft? I would think they would have to be set the same upon installing, but how do you know?

The actuator mount has a keyway that fits in the top of the strut, make sure the side of the actuator mount is parallel to the fender when tightening the strut mount. Kind of a pain by yourself trying to hold the mount and tighten the nut, but it can be done. My channel locks weren't big enough to hold it so I used a pipe wrench.

Torgue the strut nut to 60-75 ft lbs and the strut to spindle mounts to 140 - I forget (pretty high, almost 200) but my wrench only went to 150 ft lbs so that's where mine are set.

Rotate the actuator on top of the strut and when aligned it will drop down to the mount. Now just rotate the actuator to line the mounting holes and put the two screws in.

You may want to replace your strut mounts while at it!

Strut mount info...You need to get mounts for a standard tbird and use a couple washers under the top strut mount to keep the actuator from bottoming out.
