installing electric antenna

I need to install my newly acquired electric antenna. The wiring passes through the body panel and under the dash. I know I can splice the power wires, but what about the antenna wire that plugs into back of radio? Can that be spliced too, or I have to run it all the way into the back of the radio?

Run it all the way back to the radio. Splicing it changes the effective impedance and almost always doesn't work for crap. There are connectors to butt wires end-to-end for lengthening (can't think where off hand I say them), but any connection and/or splices change it, so the less you have, the better it works.
