Has anyone installed a factory moonroof in a car that did not come equiped with one? I am considering the possibility of transferring one from one car to the other. If you have done so, just what is the degree of difficulty?

I think if you pull the other one apart (assuming its a parts car) you'll know the level of work, then add using electric shears to cut the roof pattern (make a template from the old car roof hole) then possibly cutting the middle roof supports prior to cutting the hole (use donor car as example). Maybe someone will chime in that has done it specifically to this car. Run the tubes and wire power (from under dash the dash piggyback a fuse, personally I don't like it but most aftermarket do this, or run a new 12v power on etc wire).

Tony Sciea and I had discussed doing this years ago. but we were going to replace the entire roof panel from the donor car. so i would just be welding in a replacement panel and not trying to center a panel into my existing roof. we never did it since the deal on the donor parts car never happened and i opted out as most cars with moon roofs usually rust.

I won't say it can't be added but the roof panel used on the moonroof cars is actually a little different than a std version... Compare the two and you'll find the moonroof cars have a small crease across the roof just above the rear quarter glasses, and then a slightly more aggressive slope... I'm guessing the angle on the roof is more level till it gets to the crease then starts to slope toward the back glass...
Personally I have little use for the hole(yeah I owned a few), as it requires a lower headliner that I'd sometimes bump my head on, had to keep the back of the seat as low as possible at that...
