ok what wire is the signal wire that i tap into on my o2 sensor? coming from the o2 sensor is 3 wires, 2 whites on top and a black on bottom, i think its the black but not positive, which is it and how exactly do i tap or splice into it. thanks!

yes thats what i thought...its the black coming out of the o2 sensor right...now how exactly do i tap or splice into that wire to hook up the purple wire from the a/f gauge?

I'd splice into it on the harness side of the connector - so if you change the 02, you don't have to rewire. Soldier the connection ands wrap it.

Sorry to hijack, but I have a related A/F question.
On pre-87 cars without the heated 0<sub>2</sub> sensor, any idea how long before the A/F should register a reading? Does it wait until the exhaust reaches 600°F?
