Anyone know the thread pattern/size of the bolts on an 87/88 ihi cold side? few weeks ago my wga for some reason came unbolted, and the other night I noticed the bolt in the top center was also missing. The little ear that goes between the bolt head and housing was down on the frame rail, so I got it to put back on. I plan on buying some bolts long enough to run out of the other side and lock em down with some locknuts.

I don't know why they came out but be gentle putting them in. It's an aluminum housing and the threads don't need a lot of torque.

Thanks for the heads up Pete! I bough some nuts to put on the bolts, so I dont have to worry about it again. probably gonna put some loctite in there too. The guy at East Coast Turbo, said the put loctite on em from their factory, he was wondering why they came out, all I could tell hime is maybe they didnt put the loctite on em, or the housing threads are stripped. (hence my reasoning for the outer nuts! ) I mean the 2 wga bolts came out a month or 2 ago, and now the top cold side bolt and I think maybe the bottom one too.

Well, I learned a lesson saturday, dont always believe anything someone tells you even if they work for the people who rebuilt yout turbo. The guy at the shop told me 6 mm was the thread size. I went to put in my new bolts and they didnt fit. Had to go back to home depot, and get some 5mm pieces. I wanted to get the job done as quick as possible, so I called them and asked what size. I guess next time Ill just go ahead and pull off the Ic, then if I have to ride my bicycle to get the parts I will. I did notice that the threads where somewhat stripped. So im glad I got the nuts and lock washers. Next time teh turbo comes off the car Ill have to retap the threads completely!
