Howdy, my 88 tc is up for the ignition recall but Ford says its on "back order". So I think I may just do it myself. Are the ones I'd get at Napa or advance compatible to the recall replacement part? Thanks

Back order on a 25 year old car is a polite way of saying "don't hold your breath" This sounds like a DYI moment.

My choice would be the NAPA in hopes getting a better quality of "offshore" part :headbang:

I was using the Autozone piece, but got on a "All Ford Electrical parts" kick. All sensors, and anything electrical, switches, the coil, TFI, etc......Motorcraft.

Think a bad ignition would cause a working radio not to work

If the radio is the only thing not working, it is unlikely the ignition switch is the problem, as there is no seperate circuit for the radio coming off the switch.

I've also had it just shut off a few times. I've tried a few radios and one would flicker and go off while others just wouldn't power up. All good radios.
